The development processes for GAIA, PERSEUS’s automotive secure bootloader, have achieved Automotive SPICE® v4.0 Capability Level 2 (ASPICE CL2) following an assessment by TÜV SÜD.
Automotive SPICE is an internationally recognized model for assessing the capability and management of automotive software development processes. CL2 indicates that process activities are planned and managed, with associated work products systematically controlled.
The assessment covered the GAIA development project, which met the CL2 criteria across all 11 assessed processes. These included project management, quality assurance, configuration management, problem resolution management, change request management, and software engineering processes spanning requirements analysis, design, implementation, and verification. This achievement reflects consistent process execution, requirements traceability, and systematic work product management throughout GAIA’s development.
GAIA is a versatile secure bootloader supporting a range of automotive MCUs. During system startup, it initializes hardware and verifies software authenticity and integrity to help ensure that only trusted software is executed. GAIA supports AUTOSAR Classic, RTOS, and hypervisor environments and, when integrated with the PEGASUS hypervisor, provides a secure initialization foundation for multi-OS systems.
Building on the ISO 26262 ASIL-D functional safety certification of our PEGASUS hypervisor, this ASPICE CL2 achievement further strengthens the foundation for product safety and development process quality at PERSEUS. We will continue to enhance the quality of our foundational automotive software and development processes.
